cheap hotels in china. my experience with the local chains.

i stayed at a few chinese hotel chains on my last trip. here's my honest take.

hanting. clean rooms, comfortable bed. about 25 usd a night. the staff spoke zero english but google translate worked. would stay again.

home inn. similar to hanting. slightly cheaper at around 20 usd. rooms are smaller but fine for one person.

7 days inn. the cheapest of the three. around 15 usd. rooms are basic but clean. good if you just need a place to sleep.

all of them had private bathrooms and hot water. no issues.

booking tip. use ctrip or trip.com. prices are lower than booking.com. i saved about 20 percent.

you don't need to spend a lot on hotels in china.
