my visa got approved in 2 days. here's what i submitted.

applied for my second Chinese tourist visa last week and got it back in 2 days. way faster than last time.

here's exactly what i submitted.

passport with photos. two blank pages left. photo taken at CVS.

online application form. printed and signed. double check your passport number. my friend got rejected because he typed one digit wrong.

flight booking. round trip. i used a refundable ticket just in case.

hotel bookings for every single night. i booked refundable ones on booking.com and canceled after getting the visa.

bank statement. showed around 3000 usd. probably enough for 2 weeks.

what changed this time is i also included a cover letter. just one page saying why i wanted to visit china and where i planned to go. the visa officer might not have read it but it didn't hurt.

applied at the NYC consulate. dropped off monday morning, picked up wednesday afternoon.
