everyone said shanghai is just a big modern city and i would get bored after one day. they were wrong.

i had two days there and could have easily stayed longer.

day one i walked the bund in the morning. super touristy but you have to do it. the buildings on the old side are beautiful and looking across to pudong is wild. then i crossed the river via the tunnel. kinda cheesy but fun.

afternoon i went to yu garden. crowded but pretty. the area around it is a big tourist market. bought some tea and a silly souvenir.

night time i went up the tower in pudong. forget which one. the view was amazing. expensive though. like twenty dollars.

day two i went to the former french concession and just walked around. this was my favorite part. lots of trees and old buildings and small cafes. felt like a different city.

then i took the maglev train to the airport just for fun. it goes really fast like 400 something km per hour. the train itself is nothing special but the speed is cool.

food wise i ate soup dumplings at a random place near yu garden. also tried shengjian which are fried soup dumplings. those are better in my opinion.

skip the fake markets. people are aggressive and the stuff is cheap quality.
