Choosing the W Kuala Lumpur – Location and Pool Views

One of the biggest reasons I chose the W Kuala Lumpur was its unbeatable location and the iconic pool view.

The hotel is situated right next to the Petronas Twin Towers and KLCC. From the hotel entrance, it's only about a 3‑ to 4‑minute walk to the KLCC mall – incredibly convenient for anyone who loves shopping or taking photos.

The pool is also a hugely popular Instagram spot. Whether under the bright sunlight or after dark with the Twin Towers as a backdrop, it's incredibly photogenic – which is a major reason why so many travellers choose to stay here.

Upon arrival, the car pulled up at the ground‑level drop‑off area. The bellman came over promptly to help with the luggage. One small but notable detail: after taking the bags, they first verified the reservation details, then handed over the luggage tags – a fairly standard but professional procedure.

The lobby is located on the 8th floor. Stepping out of the elevator, my first impression was that the space isn't particularly large – modest in size. However, the décor and the electronic music playing in the lobby are very much in line with the W brand's signature style.

The front desk service left a good impression. At check‑in, I was offered a welcome drink served in a mini bottle – quite a nice touch. The staff initially spoke in English, but after seeing my information, they immediately switched to Mandarin and even made some friendly small talk.

On the 8th floor, besides the front desk, there is also the breakfast restaurant and the lobby lounge. The entire public area reflects W's design aesthetic – youthful and trendy with lively lighting, colours, and decorative elements. While the overall space may not be jaw‑dropping, the style and atmosphere are definitely fashionable and cool.
