Not long ago, I checked into the Design Hotel in Bolzano, Italy. The design was indeed very local in style, but as a Marriott Gold Card member, I didn't have any benefits. I had learned earlier that there was no breakfast included, but I didn't expect that the points for staying wouldn't be counted towards the number of nights in the room. Is this the case for all Design Hotels?
