eating with allergies in china. my experience.

i have a nut allergy. was worried about eating in china. here's what i did.

i printed a card in chinese explaining my allergy. "i have a severe nut allergy. if i eat nuts, i will get very sick. please make sure no nuts in my food."

showed the card at every restaurant. most were understanding. some even called the kitchen to check.

i stuck to simple dishes. rice, noodles, vegetables. avoided complex sauces.

i carried allergy medicine with me just in case. never needed it.

street food was risky. i avoided it except for things i could see being made.

the card helped a lot. highly recommend doing this if you have food allergies.
