applied for visa in nyc. timeline and tips.

just got my tourist visa from the nyc consulate. thought i'd share the timeline.

submitted my application on a monday morning. the line wasn't too bad, maybe 20 minutes.

they took my passport and told me to come back on friday. picked it up in the afternoon. 4 business days.

one thing i didn't know. they only take cash or money order for the fee. no credit cards. had to run to a bank nearby.

also bring printed copies of everything. they wouldn't look at my phone.

if you're applying in nyc, get there early. the line gets longer after 10am.
