I’m planning a trip to Beijing around New Year 2027. It will be my first visit to Beijing. After comparing prices and locations, I’m deciding between these two hotels.
The requirement is that it must be a twin-bed room type. Crowne Plaza U-Town only has one twin-bed room type, so there’s no room to negotiate upgrades, etc.

By contrast, Regent has more twin-bed options and more room for negotiation/requests. Even at worst, if room availability is tight and an upgrade isn’t possible, the base room is still a bit larger than at Crowne Plaza U-Town.

From what I’ve seen so far, both properties feel somewhat dated. Considering convenience for taking taxis or the subway, I feel Regent comes out ahead.

In addition, the reviews from experienced members regarding Regent’s lounge breakfast and HH seem relatively higher. Every day I’d definitely eat breakfast before heading out for sightseeing; afternoon tea time I’d mostly be out and about, so I probably wouldn’t use it; Happy Hour I might be able to make it for a few days.

I’m wondering if there are any other points I should consider, or if any experienced folks have suggestions regarding the weather and New Year in Beijing!
