traveling to china with kids. what worked for us.
went to china with our 8 and 10 year olds last year. sharing what worked.the high speed trains were great. kids loved them. plenty of space to move around. pack snacks.
hotels. we booked family rooms. some hotels have connecting rooms. check before booking.
attractions. the great wall was a hit. the kids walked about 2 hours before getting tired. summer palace was good too. lots of open space to run.
food. kids were picky. we found familiar options like dumplings, noodles, and fried rice. also western chains in big cities.
strollers. we didn't bring one. our kids were old enough to walk. but if you have younger kids, bring a lightweight one. some places are not stroller friendly.
schedule. we didn't overplan. one big activity in the morning. afternoon rest or easy walk. that worked.
china is surprisingly kid friendly. people were nice to our children.
