xi'an beyond the terracotta warriors.
everyone goes to xi'an for the terracotta warriors. but the city has more to offer.the muslim quarter is great for food. lamb skewers, persimmon cakes, and a flatbread thing i forgot the name of. go hungry.
the city wall is impressive. you can rent a bike and ride the whole loop. takes about 2 hours with stops. great view of the city.
the great mosque is hidden in the muslim quarter. peaceful and quiet. a nice break from the crowds.
the bell tower and drum tower are nice at night when lit up. you can go up but the view from outside is fine.
i spent 3 days in xi'an. could have done 2 if i rushed. but 3 was comfortable.
